A Historical Association

Caractacus

This picture shows Mr Eric Marsden being presented with a rather magnificent trophy as winner of a County prone rifle competition for the 1950/51 season. The trophy is an original bronze miniature sculpture of “Caractacus” by John Henry Foley. The full-size sculpture presently resides at the Mansion House in London.

This is just one of the many prestigious trophies that celebrate the long tradition of shooting sports in the County of Lancaster.
